MACHANICS OF MACHINES
(BMFR 3313)

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, student should be able to:

[1]    Apply the basic principles of mechanics of rigid body on machines and its mechanism.

[2]    Solve complex problems involving mechanisms, balancing, vibration, and power transmission through belts and gears.

[3]    Solve the mechanics of machines elements and its performance.

Synopsis

This course introduces kinematics and dynamics of machines which focus on the principles of the mechanics of machines and their application in practice.   It covers the basic concept of gear and belt, dynamic balancing, governor, gyroscope and the basics of vibrations.
