Student Learning Time (SLT) is the average number of hours that are expected of a normal student to put in for a given credit hour in a 14-week semester. It is a measure of loading for students. The SLT consists of the lecture hours, practical, tutorials, assessment and the hours for self-study. Thus for a three credit-hour subject, the SLT ranges from 120 - 140 hours.
